Inter’s €30m offer for England midfielder Curtis Jones

Inter’s €30m offer for England midfielder Curtis Jones

Inter Milan have formally submitted a €30 million offer, plus €5 million in add‑ons and a future‑sale percentage, to Liverpool for England midfielder Curtis Jones, following a verbal agreement reached earlier. The deal comes as Jones’s contract expires at season’s end and Liverpool have trimmed their original €40 million demand.

Negotiations and contract details

After the verbal pact, Inter sent a written proposal that totals €35 million – €30 million upfront, €5 million in performance add‑ons and a cut of any future sale fee. Sky Sport Italia confirmed the structure of the offer and noted the inclusion of the future‑sale clause.

The talks have stretched over the best part of a year, with Jones pushing to join San Siro as early as January. His contract runs out at the end of this season, prompting Liverpool to lower their €40 million asking price to facilitate the move.

Next steps and squad implications

Inter are now discussing personal terms with Jones and his agents, who have expressed enthusiasm, meaning negotiations should not linger. Jones is expected to fly out tomorrow and undergo his medical before the weekend.

Even if the paperwork is completed quickly, it is unlikely Jones will be registered in time for Inter’s opening Serie A fixture against Monza on Saturday at 17.30 UK time (18.30 CEST).

Should the transfer go through, Jones will become the third England international to join Inter this summer, following free‑agent centre‑back John Stones from Manchester City and Tottenham full‑back Djed Spence.

Fans could see him introduced in the stands at San Siro, perhaps even during the May 24 Premier League clash where LIVERPOOL faced Brentford at Anfield, a match that highlighted his England pedigree.

Earlier, on August 2, Jones featured in a friendly at Soldier Field, dribbling against Leeds United – a reminder of his experience on big stages, from the Field in Chicago to training sessions in Jan 2026 at the AXA Training Centre in Kirkby, England.
