Inter reignites the race for Muharemovic, Barcelona watches
In the heart of Milan, the Inter executives have reiterated their interest in the Bosnian defender Tarik Muharemovic, now at Leeds United. According to TEAMtalk, Inter has returned to chase the 23‑year‑old, who missed the summer transfer window and could become a pillar of the future defence.
Inter returns to the defender
Inter had pushed decisively for the young defender and had already reached a contractual agreement. The deal provided for a long‑term commitment, but the negotiation later fell through. Inter showed great determination in the negotiations.
The deal fell through in the negotiations with Sassuolo, allowing Leeds to complete the purchase for forty million euros. The centre‑back has signed a contract that binds him to the English club until 2021.
Despite the completion of the transfer, the Inter club will continue to monitor Muharemovic closely. Defender Tarik Muharemovic is at the top of Inter’s wish list for the future defence, especially if Alessandro Bastoni were to leave next summer.
Leeds is aware of the Italian interest, but its stance is clear: no intention of selling the player, even in the face of a significant profit.
Barcelona has also been mentioned among the clubs that have been tracking Muharemovic already in the summer, confirming the defender’s broad appeal on the European scene.
