Inter hesitates, Bruges prepares Aleksander Stankovic's return

Aleksander Stankovic, sold to Inter for several million, finds himself in difficulty and could return on loan to Club Brugge, if the midfielder does not see more playing time this summer.

Inter Milan triggered last summer the buy‑back clause of €23 million to bring Stankovic back to Italy. The Serbian then signed a contract that runs until June 2031 with the Milan club.

Possibility of a loan in January

Italian newspapers are already talking about a possible loan in January, so that the 21‑year‑old midfielder can play more regularly. Torino is said to have shown interest this summer, but no decision has been made.

Potential return to Club Brugge

If minutes are lacking in the coming months, Club Brugge could take advantage of the situation by bringing him back on loan, an option deemed win‑win for both clubs. Relations between the two teams remain good, even though Stankovic’s high salary could complicate the deal.
