Inter coach warns Bruges will test Nerazzurri ambition
On Monday afternoon, Inter Milan manager Cristian Chivu addressed the media ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League tie at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium, where the Nerazzurri will face Club Brugge at 21:00. The Romanian coach stressed that his side will not underestimate the Belgian outfit.
Chivu highlighted that the Blauw en Zwart are an ambitious and enterprising side, and that his squad will not take them lightly. Although the Nerazzurri enter the tie as favourites, the Romanian manager admitted the task will not be straightforward. He stressed that every Champions League fixture demands full attention.
Chivu stresses incremental focus
"We take the matches one after the other," Chivu said. He added that the team thinks only about the next game, noting that they play every three days and cannot look beyond tomorrow's clash with Bruges.
"They show an offensive mentality, press high and attack with many players," Chivu explained. "It will not be simple, but we are aware that no match is easy in the Champions League."

The encounter also carries personal significance for goalkeeper Yann Sommer. The Swiss featured for Inter last season and was a summer signing for Bruges, having worn the Nerazzurri shirt between the summer of 2023 and 2026.
"We must thank Sommer for the respect he always showed towards the club and its supporters, and for the added value he brought to the team," Chivu said. He praised the 37‑year‑old for helping the side reach heights and compete on the biggest stages. "We can only thank him," the coach concluded.
