Inter close on €30m Spence deal as Roma eye Henrique
Scatto Inter: the club is on the verge of securing Tottenham right‑back Djed Spence for roughly €30 million plus bonuses, a move intended to replace the departed Djed Dumfries in Leonardo Chivu’s squad, while Roma line up a €25‑30 million bid for forward Luis Henrique.
Spence near Inter agreement
In the last hours the two clubs have drawn close to a deal, with the transfer fee expected to settle around €30 million plus bonuses. Spence is likely to sign a four‑year contract and will travel to Milan once the paperwork is completed. He has only just resumed training after the post‑World Cup break, following the path of his England teammate Nathaniel Stones.
Inter view him as the long‑awaited successor to the departed right‑back Djed Dumfries. The vacancy is the sole empty slot in the squad overseen by technical director Leonardo Chivu.
Initially Inter hoped Tottenham would lower their original €40 million asking price. The final approval also rests with Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi.
Meanwhile, the club’s negotiating duo Marotta and Ausilio have reopened talks on French winger Moussa Diaby, who is currently in the United Arab Emirates. Complications include Diaby’s high salary demand and Al‑Ittihad’s attractive offer from Bayer Leverkusen.
Roma eye Luis Henrique
Separately, Roma is prepared to submit a bid of €25‑30 million for forward Luis Henrique. Inter’s directors Marotta and Ausilio will evaluate the proposal, though head coach Gasperini has not shown strong enthusiasm.
If another winger departs, Inter would face both a numerical and qualitative gap in the squad. Consequently, Spence’s acquisition is intended to proceed irrespective of the outcome of the Henrique negotiation.
The club also monitors the situation of centre‑back Cristian Romero, who is reportedly a step away from a move to Atletico Madrid. Additional targets mentioned include midfielder Curtis Jones and defender Benjamin Pavard, who has expressed a desire to remain at Inter.
Ma the transfer window’s deadline looms, adding urgency to finalising all deals.
