Inter Bisseck on Jurgen Klopp's call and the 5‑0 final

Yann Bisseck, Inter defender, recounted in an interview on the Football Finance podcast on YouTube how the call from Germany's new head coach, Jurgen Klopp, changed his perspective, while at the same time reliving the 5‑0 defeat to PSG.

Jurgen Klopp's call

During the interview Bisseck retraced the milestones of his career, from his debut in France to his experiences in the Premier League, up to his transfer to Inter. He then confirmed the recent call‑up to the German national team, decided by the new coach Jurgen Klopp, describing it as an important opportunity. “I have to say he made an excellent impression on me right away and I hope I made the same impression on him!” he said, emphasizing his enthusiasm for the new relationship.

While training, he received a call from an unsaved German number; on WhatsApp the name simply appeared as “Jürgen”. Thinking it might be the coach, he listened to the voice message that asked him to call back to convey the news in person. The call came on the day of a club match, so he had to wait until the next day to respond; the next day he called back, received confirmation of the call‑up, was overjoyed and is already set to join the national team camp. Bisseck then recalled the Champions League final lost 5‑0 to Paris Saint‑Germain, describing it as a true “nightmare”. He emphasized how, shortly before, the team had been close to the goal, recalling previous victories over Bayern Munich and Barcelona. Personally, he hoped to start as a starter, but he remained on the bench, one of the few matches in which he truly felt nervous.
