Injury scare forces Vicario off Juventus debut at Frosinone
Guglielmo Vicario was forced off in stoppage time on his Serie A debut for Juventus, with Mattia Perin replacing him for the closing moments of the 1‑0 win at Frosinone, after the goalkeeper called for medical staff due to cramp.
The goalkeeper went down and called for the medical staff at the start of added time. He was unable to continue after the medics reached him.
Luciano Spalletti had no choice but to make the change. Mattia Perin hurriedly pulled on his gloves and took over between the posts.
Loan deal and future options
Guglielmo Vicario joins Juventus on loan with an option to buy from Tottenham Hotspur. The move was announced on Juventus.com.
The injury is believed to be cramp, and early indications are not alarming. Fans will wait for an official update.
The substitution saw Perin potentially play his last game for the club. He is understood to be heading for Palermo, making him a curious emergency option.
Juventus are reportedly weighing Wolfsburg’s Kamil Grabara as the long‑term deputy to Vicario. This consideration follows the goalkeeper’s sudden exit.
Vicario otherwise enjoyed a comfortable evening at the Stadio Benito Stirpe. Frosinone struggled to create, and Gleison Bremer’s first‑half header proved enough.
