Injured, Cole Palmer misses England's international break

Injured Cole Palmer, the 24‑year‑old English international, will not be able to join the squad during the September international break after being left out of the World Cup this summer. According to The Athletic, he is suffering from a slight muscle injury that forces him to stay on the bench.

Constant presence at Manchester City

Trained at Manchester City, Palmer has started every Premier League match since the beginning of the season under the guidance of Xabi Alonso. He even played the full duration of the club's last five league games.

In his absence, Nottingham Forest's playmaker Morgan Gibbs‑White was called up to replace Chelsea's number 10. This decision opens the door to other young Premier League talents.

Thomas Tuchel, former PSG manager, had reminded Palmer, after his non‑participation in the World Cup, that he needed to raise his level to keep his place. “Cole must raise his level of play when he joins the team; he must produce these kinds of statistics to earn his place, keep it, and justify his call‑up.”

The player had not expected to go through the infirmary. It remains uncertain whether he will be able to regain his level before the league resumes.
