Hwang's heartfelt apology to Feyenoord fans after Porto move
South Korean midfielder Hwang In‑Beom (Zuid‑Koreaan) used his personal Instagram account at 07:48 today to address Feyenoord supporters, apologising for his limited contribution after moving to FC Porto and recalling his two‑year spell with the Dutch club. He said "Sorry" for his limited contribution and thanked fans for welcoming his family and for the club anthem that will stay with him.
In the post he began, “Feyenoorders. Thank you for letting me sign a contract two years ago. Thank you for making me and my family feel at home.” He added gratitude for the chance to represent the club and city, and praised the song created for him as a lasting memory.
Hwang also expressed regret, writing, “Sorry that I could not help the team last year as much as I should have.” The apology acknowledges his inability to meet expectations during his final season.
He explained that injuries plagued him, limiting his involvement to 24 official matches last season. The midfielder’s reduced playing time was a direct result of those fitness setbacks.
Despite the departure, Hwang affirmed his ongoing loyalty, stating he will always support the club and wishes everyone continued success.
The Instagram thread quickly filled with affectionate replies from former Feyenoord teammates, each offering supportive and loving messages to the South Korean midfielder.
