Hull target €8m Frankfurt winger Bahoya to add pace

Hull City have agreed a deal with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign 21‑year‑old French winger Jean‑Matteo Bahoya for a reported fee of €8m. The transfer was Published 31 minutes ago and the player has been granted permission to undergo a medical in East Yorkshire before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

Bahoya arrived at Frankfurt from Angers in January 2024 and has already logged 78 appearances, contributing seven goals and eight assists. A product of the Angers SCO academy, he is a left‑winger who can also operate across the front line, offering the Tigers tactical flexibility.

Why Hull pursued Bahoya

The French Under‑21 international has featured in both the Champions League and Europa League for Frankfurt, gaining valuable European experience. He holds the Bundesliga speed record, having been clocked at 23.09 mph against Bochum in 2025, a trait Hull hope will add pace to their attack.

Bahoya’s contract with Die Adler runs until 2029, but he is understood to be open to the move, and his agent confirmed the medical will take place in East Yorkshire. The club’s deadline is Tuesday, and the €8m fee reflects both his potential and the interest he has attracted from several Premier League clubs.

What the move means for both clubs

For Hull, the signing could become their 13th addition of the summer window as they continue to invest heavily in Sergej Jakirovic’s squad. After beating Manchester United and Coventry City in their opening two Premier League matches, the Tigers see Bahoya as a key piece to sustain early momentum.

Eintracht Frankfurt will receive €8m while off‑loading a player whose contract runs to 2029, freeing wage space for future signings. The departure also allows Frankfurt to recoup part of the €8m they originally paid for the Montfermeil‑born forward.

Bahoya gains the chance to test himself in the Premier League, while Hull adds a versatile, speed‑blazing winger to their ranks, a move that could prove decisive in their top‑flight campaign.
