Hull City Plot £20 million chase for Nigerian winger Femi Azeez

A £20 million bid from Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town underlines the price Hull City may have to meet for Nigerian winger Femi Azeez, who currently stars for Sky Bet Championship side Millwall, reports Completesports.com. The figure sets the benchmark for a potential move ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season.

Ipswich Town, fresh from promotion last season, are plotting a move to secure the two‑time Nigeria international before the 2026/27 Premier League campaign. The Tigers see Azeez as a key addition to bolster their attacking options in the top flight.

Hull City’s recent promotion has left the club eager to reinforce its squad for a return to the top flight. The management’s ambition is to build a side capable of sustaining Premier League status, with strengthening the forward line a clear priority.

Femi Azeez has been identified as one of Hull’s priority transfer targets as the roster is reshaped for life in the Premier League. The scouting department praised his pace and creativity as essential attributes for the upcoming campaign.

According to Football League World, the Tigers are determined to complete a deal for the two‑time Nigeria international before the start of the 2026/27 Premier League season, allowing him to integrate during pre‑season preparations. The timing is crucial for both clubs to plan their squads.

Millwall are expected to prove difficult negotiators, having turned down a £20 million bid from Ipswich Town earlier this summer. The Lions’ refusal underscores their intention to retain one of their key players.

Azeez enjoyed a sensational 2025/26 season, registering 11 goals and eight assists in 33 league starts for Millwall. His contributions were pivotal in the club’s impressive performance that year, helping them compete strongly in the Championship.

His outstanding displays earned him a place in the Sky Bet Championship Team of the Season, further enhancing his reputation as one of the division’s brightest attacking talents.

The £20 million price tag highlights the escalating market value of top Championship talent as Premier League newcomers and promoted clubs compete for proven performers, putting pressure on Hull City to meet the benchmark if they wish to secure Azeez.
