How Barça neutralized Osimhen and Leão in Istanbul

Barcelona presented a line‑up that, under the direction of Pere Puntí, sought to counter Galatasaray's long ball in Istanbul. Joan Garcia Aliviado started and finished acting as a sweeper, limiting the threat of Osimhen and his company. The Catalan team absorbed the first two Turkish shots and, after nullifying a hypothetical 2‑0, regained control of the match.

Defense and recovery after the first goal

Eric Garcia was beaten by Leão's speed, who left him behind to create the 1‑0 action, but the defender recovered and did not give another run to the Portuguese. In the second half, Cubarsí showed his mental strength, regaining the usual level after an uneven first half. Gerard Martín also felt uncomfortable after the Turkish goal, but returned to the correct position in the Champions.

Offensive contributions of Barça

With his long‑range goals at the start of the season, Cancelo tested the local goalkeeper and, after a slip, scored the crucial 1‑1 with a powerful cross‑shot. Rodri, with his experience, steadied the team when the match got out of hand. Pedi, intelligent and lucid, called for calm and generated key passes behind the Turkish defence, using Gordon as a reference.

Fermín, hyperactive, recovered balls and headed the 1‑2. Lamine Yamal, described as brilliant, delivered an apotheotic second half, creating two assists and a rabona dribble before the 1‑3. Dani Olmo, deployed as a false 9, provided pressure and an assist for the 1‑1 that defined the direction.

Gordon, consistent, tried several goals and finally scored the 1‑3 after a great play by Yamal. Gabriel Jesus, inventive, improved every ball he received and gave the assist for the 1‑4. Adeyemi, a protagonist, scored a cross‑shot goal and forced a penalty that was not awarded.

Bernal, involved, re‑entered in the final stretch replacing Pedri. Koundé admitted that he needs to improve and received support from Flick to return to international level. Gavi, motivated, showed impeccable attitude in a few minutes, consolidating the presence of Barça in the match.
