Hertha eyes Leverkusen-Profi as second new signing amid squad shrinkage
Hertha BSC’s squad has thinned again, and with a Blick on a Leverkusen‑Profi the club is hunting a Zweiter Neuzugang Hertha to replace the departing right‑winger. The 20‑year‑old is expected to arrive on loan without a purchase option, offering an immediate Ersatz.
Internal wing options
Der Kader of Hertha BSC is markedly reduced after the Abgang of Marten Winkler. Until now the club recorded 13 Abgänge; Winkler’s departure makes it 14. The Flügelspieler left after his Gala‑Auftritt against 1. FC Heidenheim (4:1) and joined RSC Anderlecht.
Kapitän Fabian Reese has already moved on, becoming a Bundesliga‑Absteiger with VfL Wolfsburg. His exit underscores the rapid turnover that has characterised the recent Zeiten at the Verein.
Hertha’s internal alternatives include Oluwaseun Adewumi, a Leihspieler, and home‑grown Jelani Ndi. Both are still developing and Mit the current squad depth they are not yet ready to take over the right‑wing role.
External clubs chase Alfa‑Ruprecht
Farid Alfa‑Ruprecht emerges as the most plausible Leverkusener Profi to fill the gap. The 20‑year‑old, under contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2030, would join on loan without a purchase option. He spent the previous Zweitliga‑Saison on loan at VfL Bochum, playing 26 games and recording five scorer (three goals, two assists).
Darunter Hannover 96 and SC Paderborn also showed interest, but the deal with the latter fell through. Bei Hertha he would receive ample Spielzeit, which is also valuable for Leverkusen’s Future Team, where former U17 coach Konstantinos Kotsifakis now works.
Hertha and Leverkusen have built a close relationship, highlighted by the sales of Ibrahim Maza for 10 million Euro last summer and Kennet Eichhorn for 9 million Euro this season. Nach these moves, both clubs continue to explore further cooperation in the upcoming Saison.
