Heerenveen to loan 19‑year‑old Gürbüz to Eredivisie side Willem II

At 13:33 today, SC Heerenveen signalled a short‑term Eredivisie loan for 19‑year‑old forward Eser Gürbüz, while Willem II declined comment; the Brabants Dagblad reports the Tricolores are set to bolster their attack with the youngster. The move could see him feature at the Koning Willem II Stadion next season.

Heerenveen had already intended to loan Gürbüz this season. The club’s plan was to send the forward on a temporary move within the Dutch top flight.

Initially it looked as if the Keuken Kampioen Divisie would become the young attacker’s temporary work‑ground, but that scenario has now been dismissed. The Eerste Divisie option is no longer on the table.

Hoewel Willem II itself refused to comment on the report, the Brabants Dagblad says the Tricolores are close to securing the Nederlandse youth international. The regional newspaper confirmed the club’s interest despite the lack of an official response.

BD added that the ‘last details’ are being finalised; if no obstacle arises, Gürbüz will be active next season at the Koning Willem II Stadion. The loan would therefore keep the player in the Eredivisie rather than the lower tier.

The move would make Gürbüz the second summer acquisition for Willem II, following the earlier loan of Jaden Slory from Feyenoord. The club has also completed the permanent signing of Finn Stam, who arrived from AZ after a season on loan.

Gürbüz featured in sixteen Eredivisie matches for Heerenveen last season, mainly as a substitute. His limited minutes underline the desire for regular top‑flight action.
