Harry Kane's winner propels Bayern towards new scoring records
Harry Kane's late strike clinched Bayern Munich's 2-1 Bundesliga win at Elversberg on Sunday, marking his 150th goal for the German giants and cementing his status as the fastest player to reach that landmark. The goal, his 153rd appearance for Bayern, also secured three points and underscored his relentless scoring form.

The England captain opened his Bundesliga account for the season against Elversberg, delivering the decisive finish in a tightly contested match. A Getty photograph captured the celebration as Bayern held on for the win, their first league victory of the campaign.
Kane has become the quickest Bayern player ever to hit 150 goals, a milestone achieved in just 153 games. Since joining Bayern from Tottenham three years ago, he has averaged 0.98 goals per game across all competitions, a rate that underlines his prolific nature.
Prolific season fuels record chase
Last term Kane enjoyed his most productive season, netting 61 times in all competitions, including 36 goals in 31 Bundesliga outings as Bayern secured a second straight title. Those figures illustrate why he remains a frontrunner for this year’s Ballon d’Or, having made the 30‑man shortlist.
He has finished as the Bundesliga’s leading scorer in each of his three campaigns, collecting Torjägerkanone on every occasion and also claiming the 2025/26 European Golden Shoe.
Kane now sits on 99 Bundesliga goals in 97 appearances, averaging 1.02 per game, and is just one goal away from becoming the fastest player to reach 100 league goals. The current record, set by Köln legend Dieter Müller in 1977, was achieved in 129 matches.
The next opportunity to break that mark arrives when Bayern host Union Berlin on Friday. Kane has not gone more than two games without scoring for Bayern since February of last year, highlighting his consistency.
Bayern have won five of six games in all competitions at the start of the season and thrashed Bodo/Glimt 5-0 in their Champions League opener on Thursday. Kane featured on the scoresheet, becoming the fourth player to score in eight consecutive Champions League appearances and tallying four goals so far in 2026/27.
Internationally, Kane became England’s all‑time leading World Cup scorer this summer, reaching 14 goals after six strikes helped the Three Lions secure third place in North America. He remains Tottenham’s record scorer with 280 goals and sits second in the Premier League’s all‑time chart with 213, five behind Alan Shearer. At Bayern he is seventh on the club’s all‑time list, five shy of Roland Wohlfarth, and still a long way from Gerd Müller’s 565‑goal record.
