Harry Kane Ballon d’Or: competition intensifies at Bayern

Inside the Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich players train under the lights while English sports betting markets place Harry Kane as the favorite for the 2026 Ballon d'Or. The English striker, however, must face formidable competition to claim the Grail.

Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembélé, Rodri, Fabian Ruiz and Michael Olise are also eager to submit their nominations for the most prestigious individual award. All these players have shone in their respective leagues this season.

Within Bayern, unanimity favors Kane, despite the presence of Olise and other Bavarians such as Dayot Upamecano or Luis Diaz on the list of contenders. The German club is fully rallying behind the English striker.

"Harry Kane deserves it because he was the best player in the world last season." – Michael Olise

Serge Gnabry backed the scorer at the press conference, stating: "It would be wonderful if he wins it. We always wish that for a teammate. He has had an incredible year. For me, he has certainly done enough to win it. He is a key player for us and he has shown his quality. I really hope he lifts it." He said these words before the clash with Arsenal, scheduled for this Wednesday at 9 p.m.

Rummenigge sees Kane as a successor

"I was the last Bayern player to win this trophy, so I would like to see another Bayern player win it now. Harry Kane has a clear edge: his goals speak for themselves." – Karl‑Heinz Rummenigge

With sixty‑three goals in all competitions and a Golden Boot, Harry Kane was the most decisive player in Europe last season, leading Bayern Munich to the Champions League semi‑finals and England to the World Cup semi‑finals.

The verdict will be delivered on Monday in London, at his home, and could crown the first Bayern Englishman to lift the Ballon d'Or since the eighties.
