Harrogate boost attack with Halifax’s 12‑goal midfielder Hmami

Harrogate Town have signed Halifax Town midfielder Josh Hmami after his 12‑goal haul in 42 National League appearances for the Shaymen last season, bringing the 26‑year‑old to the Sulpherites for an undisclosed fee. The move bolsters Harrogate’s attacking options ahead of their National League campaign.

Hmami arrived at Halifax after a spell with King's Lynn Town, where he developed his reputation as a goal‑scoring midfielder. His 12 goals this season marked a significant contribution for the Shaymen.

He could make his debut for the Sulpherites at home to Solihull Moors in their National League opener on Saturday. The fixture offers Hmami an immediate test in Harrogate’s first league match of the season.

"He's an ambitious lad and fits the profile we are looking for in that position, we hope he can bring goals like he did last season," head of player recruitment Lloyd Kerry told the club website. Kerry’s comments underline the club’s expectation that Hmami will replicate his scoring form.
