Guinness crowns Arsenal's Max Dowman with three record titles
Inside the Emirates Stadium, a hushed crowd watched as Max Dowman, 16, stepped forward to receive three gleaming Guinness World Records certificates, a fitting capstone to a Premier League season that saw the teenage winger thrust into the spotlight.
Dowman’s meteoric rise was nurtured by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, who gradually introduced the winger to first‑team duties throughout last season, trusting the youngster’s instinct and pace to earn his place among seasoned professionals.
Champions League debut shatters record
Last November, Dowman became the youngest player ever to appear in a UEFA Champions League match when he entered as a substitute against Slavia Prague. At 15 years and 308 days old, he eclipsed Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko by 75 days, rewriting the competition’s age benchmark.
Just months later, in March, the forward rewrote Premier League history by becoming the league’s youngest scorer at 16 years and 73 days, netting in Arsenal’s 2‑0 victory over Everton. The feat displaced James Vaughan’s 2005 record of 16 years and 271 days, a match Arteta himself once featured in for the Toffees.

Youngest Premier League champion
At the close of the campaign, Dowman added a third accolade, becoming the youngest player to lift the Premier League trophy at 16 years and 144 days. The achievement underscored his rapid progression from academy prospect to title‑winning senior.
Arsenal presented the three official Guinness World Records certificates in a ceremony at the club, alongside a copy of the Guinness World Records Football Edition 2027, where Dowman headlines the Class of ’27.
"The youngest player on our list, Max sums up what the Class of ’27 is all about," said Tom Beckerlegge, senior editor of the new edition. "To have already achieved three Guinness World Records titles before turning 17 is extraordinary, and his story captures exactly why this generation of players is so exciting."

The Football Edition also profiles Lamine Yamal, Jude Bellingham, Cole Palmer, Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe among the Class of ’27. The book hit stores on Thursday 8 October 2026, priced at £12.99.
