Guardiola backs Manchester City after financial ruling
Pep Guardiola, former Manchester City manager, has declared his unconditional support for Manchester City on the 55‑year‑old coach's official Instagram channel, after the team was found guilty on all counts of breaching the Premier League's financial rules by an independent commission, and heavy penalties loom.
Commission's Verdict
The commission found the club guilty on all charges, because it had breached the Premier League's financial regulations between the 2009/10 and 2017/18 seasons. The decision covers all allegations, and the English top club must now brace for severe sanctions.
Manchester City intends to challenge the verdict before the set Friday deadline. The club maintains its innocence and is preparing an appeal that is to be filed later this week.
Guardiola's Connection to Manchester City
Guardiola arrived at Manchester City in 2016 and led the team until the end of last season. During that period he won six league titles and one Champions League. After his departure he took on an ambassador role at the club.

On the coach's Instagram account it read: “I want every single Manchester City fan around the world to know that I am there for you – more than ever.” He continued: “I stand behind my club, my owner, my chairman, Ferran, the players, the staff, Enzo and you, our unique fans – it has always been that way and will always remain so.”
Guardiola added: “Let me make one thing clear: We will get through this together. I love you all.” Ferran Soriano, the club's chief executive, and Enzo Maresca, Guardiola's successor as manager, were mentioned by name in the message.
Before his time in England, Guardiola had already managed Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona, where he also won numerous titles. His long‑standing collaboration with Ferran Soriano dates back to their joint work at Barcelona.
