Green retro jersey for Klopp debut, Adidas announces November farewell

The German national team will play its first match under head coach Jürgen Klopp in the Netherlands in a green retro jersey, which also marks the debut of the new kit. Adidas announced that a still secret farewell shirt will be presented in November, officially.

Green retro jersey for the debut

Adidas presented the green retro jersey in a high‑profile commercial clip, which is based on the 1990 World Cup alternate jersey. The new shirt is to be officially unveiled on 3 November, before it appears in November as the final model of the partnership.

In a social‑media video, Jürgen Klinsmann, Philipp Lahm, Manuel Neuer, Florian Wirtz and Nia Künzer discussed the most beautiful jersey in DFB history. World‑champion coach Joachim Löw commented at the end: “That smells like extra time.”

On the internet, alleged images of a black shirt with gold vertical stripes are circulating, which, however, have not yet been confirmed by Adidas. The official design remains secret until the presentation on 3 November.

The green retro jersey will be worn on 16 November at the Berlin stadium against the Netherlands, possibly already three days earlier in Belgrade against Serbia. On Thursday at 20:45 the DFB eleven will play in Amsterdam against the Oranje also in the green shirt.

From 2027, Nike will take over the outfitter role of the national team, ending the current partnership with Adidas in November.
