Graham Potter backs Victor Gislason for Sweden's Nations League fixtures
Sweden manager Graham Potter has addressed the situation of striker Victor Gislason, who has seen his playing time at Arsenal dwindle, as the Swedish side prepares for four UEFA Nations League fixtures in the coming weeks, including games against Romania, Poland, Bosnia‑Herzegovina and a repeat clash with Romania.
He scored 21 goals last season, aiding Arsenal’s first Premier League title in 22 years and a Champions League final appearance. This season he has logged only 12 league minutes and struggled in his two starts in the Champions League and Carabao Cup.
Arsenal are on a seven‑match winning streak, limiting Gislason’s chances. Potter affirmed the club “understands Victor’s ability and wants to support him.” Sweden, in Nations League Group B4, face Romania (25th), Poland (28th), Bosnia‑Herzegovina (2 Oct) and Romania again (5th), where Gislason hopes to regain form and challenge Kai Havertz for a starting place.
