Godts scores his first goal and confirms his international rise
Mika Godts gave Belgium a reassuring 2-0 victory over Italy, his first goal for the senior team, confirming his emergence after being left out of the last World Cup. The success came during the friendly match in Rome, where the young left winger of PSG shone.
Aged 21, the number ten Godts, not selected for the last World Cup, waited for his third call‑up. He then scored his first goal, his 20th in red, during his second start, on Friday in Rome against Italy, sealing a 2-0 win.
The PSG striker was recruited this summer from Ajax Amsterdam for €55 million bonus included, after an impressive season in the Netherlands. This arrival strengthens Paris’s left flank.
Before the match against France scheduled for Monday at 20:45, Godts had already made a strong impression, recalling his impact during the previous season in Amsterdam. The French are waiting to see if he will replicate that performance.
