Glasner confirms Gibbs-White fit for Liverpool clash at Anfield

Oliver Glasner has confirmed that Morgan Gibbs-White is fit to start as Nottingham Forest prepare for their Premier League clash at Liverpool’s Anfield on Saturday’s early kick‑off, after the midfielder missed the club’s previous match with a knee issue.

Forest will travel to Anfield for the early Saturday kick‑off, and manager Oliver Glasner is still hunting his first win since departing Crystal Palace to take charge at the City Ground. Recent setbacks against Leeds

Forest suffered a late defeat to Leeds United in their Premier League opener last weekend, and the same opponents eliminated them from the Carabao Cup. Both matches ended without Forest scoring a goal.

During the first match Gibbs-White twisted his ankle and later experienced knee pain, which ruled him out of the cup clash. The midfielder missed the subsequent league game as a result.

He was a doubt for the Liverpool game, but Glasner confirmed on Friday that he is available to start alongside Ryan Yates. ‘Morgan is available, and Ryan Yates is available, which is good news,’ the manager said, adding that Ibrahim Sangare had picked up a minor calf injury in Wednesday’s training and will miss the match.

Glasner remains eager to secure his first victory as Forest manager.

New striker Liam Delap joins

Following the two defeats, Forest signed striker Liam Delap from Chelsea in a deal worth up to £50million, with an initial fee of £45m. The English forward could make his debut this weekend.

Glasner said the club had been in talks for many days and convinced Delap that Nottingham Forest was the right club at the right moment. He added that Forest needed a number nine with pace and physicality, citing Igor Jesus, Chris Wood and the new signing as fitting that profile.
