Gineitis stays at Torino but Celtic remains an open option

Torino midfielder Gvidas Gineitis said he is happy at Torino, but he acknowledged that Celtic remains an interesting destination, leaving open the possibility of a future away from the granata club.

Celtic back on targeting Gineitis

During the summer Celtic showed interest in Gineitis, but the negotiation did not reach a conclusion because the offer did not meet Torino's asking price, set at around €10 million.

In his interview with the Lithuanian portal 15 Min, Gineitis stated: "I am happy at Torino, I am focused on what is my team. But whether you like it or not, you keep thinking about the market a bit."

He added that playing at Celtic would be "an interesting, beautiful experience" and that testing himself at a similar club would be truly stimulating.

Until the early season outings, Gineitis found a place as a starter in Abate's system, although his performances have not always lived up to expectations.

The arrival of Mandragora and Bragança has increased competition in midfield, making it harder to retain a starting spot.

The player concluded by stating that if Torino decides to sell him and another club makes an appropriate offer, he will consider the proposed amount.
