Gila turns down Inter for Milan, Pato eyes a return to 37 in Trento

At the Trento Sports Festival, Mario Gila said he turned down Inter's interest to sign with Milan, while Alexandre Pato joked about a possible return to the pitch at 37, fueling two of the day's most discussed topics.

Market choices at the Festival

Mario Gila, Milan defender and former Lazio player, explained that besides Napoli and Atalanta, Inter was also on his list, but he chose Milan because “when a club like that, with such an important history, calls you, you cannot say no.” He emphasized his desire to help bring the red‑and‑black club back to the top. His decision was reported by TMW correspondents.

Miralem Pjanic, former Roma and Juventus midfielder, recounted his role in the transfer of the young Bosnian Kerim Alajbegovic to Juventus. He said Chelsea was close to completing the deal, but the player wanted to play in Italy. “When he has the ball, something always happens,” he added, praising Alajbegovic’s personality and ability.

Alessandro Ferrari, Fiorentina general manager, explained the decision to dismiss Fabio Grosso after just three matchdays. “These are decisions that had to be made, taking responsibility,” he said, explaining that the club did not want to wait for the situation to worsen as in the previous season. He reiterated the team’s European ambition and the dream of winning a trophy.

Projects and returns of the protagonists

Mateo Pellegrino explained his decision to move to Fiorentina despite Juventus’s interest, saying: “I chose Florence for the project and because I felt it was the club that truly wanted me.” He acknowledged the important role of Fabio Paratici, who had been following him since before his arrival at Parma.

Alexandre Pato, former Milan striker, joked about a possible return to the pitch at 37 after seeing Luka Modric play in the red‑and‑black shirt. “I told the same thing to my wife Rebecca, asking her for permission to play again,” he said, praising Modric and hoping he stays at Milan for a long time.

Franck Ribery retraced his path to the bench, recalling the course that began three years ago at Coverciano. “They taught me that now I am no longer a player, but a coach, which is something different,” he explained, emphasizing the goal of imparting to the players what he previously expressed directly on the field.
