Gepromoveerd Willem II sends young striker to FC Eindhoven on loan
Gepromoveerd Willem II have confirmed that 20‑year‑old striker Siegert Baartmans will spend the coming season on loan at FC Eindhoven in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, the Dutch second tier. The announcement was posted Vandaag via the club’s official channels.
Technical director Freek Heerkens, representing the Tricolores, said Siegert showed strong development last season and now needs weekly playing minutes to continue his progress. He added that FC Eindhoven offers an excellent chance for the youngster.
Baartmans has been part of Willem II’s academy since he was twelve years old. He broke into the first team last season, making 29 appearances under coach John Stegeman and scoring two goals.
Willem II secured promotion to the Eredivisie after defeating FC Volendam in the play‑off final. The club’s ascent follows a successful campaign in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.
This loan marks the second summer deal between Willem II and FC Eindhoven, after defender Junior Poortvliet also moved to the light city. Junior’s father, Jan Poortvliet, currently serves as FC Eindhoven’s head coach.
The loan will see Baartmans compete in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie for the 2024‑25 season. Regular minutes at Eindhoven are expected to aid his development.
Heerkens concluded that the arrangement provides Baartmans with a valuable platform to extend his recent improvement. Willem II hope the experience will benefit the player upon his return.
