Genoa must watch its back: according to Sky Sport, Burnley is pressing for the Spanish sporting director Diego Lopez, 37, currently in charge of the red-and-blue club.

The English calls come from the Championship, where Burnley would have initiated contacts to secure Lopez after the polls of the past few days.

Sky Sport has confirmed that new meetings have been scheduled for the beginning of next week with Lopez, the sporting director of the Griffin.

The executive would not rule out leaving, while appreciating the project of Daniele De Rossi, current coach of Genoa.

If Lopez were to leave, the club is already assessing who could take over his place, but decisions will be postponed to Monday, October 5.

By that day it will be known whether Burnley will manage to convince the sporting director to move to England.
