Geertruida eyes PSV move as club juggles three targets
Lutsharel Geertruida, the 26‑year‑old Dutch international defender, has announced his desire to join PSV, following Kodai Sano’s example, a move confirmed by the Eindhovens Dagblad on Thursday evening, and the club currently says a personal agreement would pose no problem.
PSV appears to be pursuing three signings. The Eindhoven residents have already submitted a proposal to midfielder Filip Kostic but are still awaiting a response.
In addition, the league champions aim to reinforce the squad with both Sano and Geertruida. The Eindhovens Dagblad notes that it is ‘not the craziest thought’ for the Japanese player to still arrive at the Philips Stadion, although a €5‑6 million gap with NEC would need to be covered.

Geertruida, like Sano, is keen on moving to PSV, and a personal agreement with the 26‑year‑old defender would not be an obstacle. However, PSV must also reach a deal with RB Leipzig, and earlier the newspaper reported a potential price tag of roughly €20 million.
The former Feyenoord player has long been a target for PSV. Club officials have already made him an offer, which they say is not the issue. Closing a deal with the Germans is the task PSV faces in the coming weeks, and if that fails the club will have to move on.
