Gaucci family steers Perugia toward revival under new presidency
At a press conference in Perugia, the Famiglia Gaucci announced its return to the helm of the club, installing Alessandro Gaucci as the new Presidente and vowing to replicate the 1990s triumphs of his father Luciano while steering a revival in Serie C Gruppo B.
The club’s ownership transferred to the consortium ArenaCuri, a group led by Francesco Maria Lana and backed by an American fund. The deal was secured after ArenaCuri outbid the rival Calisto Fund for the purchase.
The official agreement was signed today, confirming that Perugia now belongs to ArenaCuri. It also confirmed that Alessandro Gaucci returns to the top of the hierarchy as the club’s Presidente.
The new project targets a rapid ascent in Serie C Gruppo B, a complete stadium rebuild, and an immediate overhaul of the technical staff. Giovanni Tedesco was dismissed from the bench as part of the restructuring.
The acquisition was announced on Google Discover, listed among the preferred “Stampa” sources with ratings A− and A+. The press release highlighted the fresh direction the club will take under the new leadership.
Alessandro Gaucci has pledged to emulate his father Luciano’s historic rise, hoping that the change in ownership and management will return Perugia to its former glories.
