Gateshead bolster backline and strike force with Robinson, Supyk
Gateshead have bolstered their squad by signing defender Jack Robinson and New Zealand Under‑20 striker Luke Supyk after successful trials. Robinson, 25, agreed a one‑year deal after missing the 2025‑26 season through injury, while Supyk, 20, signed a two‑year contract having arrived from A‑League side Wellington Phoenix after scoring three goals in his trial.
Robinson arrives as a former Middlesbrough man, bringing experience despite a season lost to injury. The 25‑year‑old defender will be available for Gateshead throughout the upcoming campaign under his one‑year contract.
Supyk, a New Zealand Under‑20 international, departed Wellington Phoenix at the end of the previous season. The 20‑year‑old striker secured a two‑year deal with Gateshead after impressing with three trial goals.
Speaking to the club website, Supyk said, “Everyone has been real welcoming since I’ve come here and I’ve had a few good games under my belt.” He expressed confidence in integrating quickly into the team.
