GAK strengthens midfield with Cvetko while Fenerbahçe replaces Talisca
The 2026 summer transfer window is already closed in most leagues, including Austria; nevertheless, Grazer AK reacts after the end of the transfer period and signs the free‑moving left‑footed Christopher Cvetko for one year to create more routine in midfield, while Fenerbahçe replaces Brazilian attacking player Anderson Talisca with Al‑Jazira Abu Dhabi.
International moves in focus
Jan Jurcec leaves the Ukrainian top‑flight club Kryvbas Krywyj Rih and moves for a reported transfer fee of €250,000 to the Polish club Śląsk Wrocław. The contract runs until the summer of 2029. Jurcec is known from his time at SCR Altach, where he played 59 Bundesliga matches for the Vorarlberg side between 2022 and 2024. After half a year without a club he played in Ukraine, where in the 2025/26 season he featured in all 30 league matches, scored one goal and provided five assists.
Talisca and Söyüncü leave Fenerbahçe
Anderson Talisca ends his spell at Fenerbahçe after one and a half goal‑rich years, after the contract was mutually terminated. He signs for two seasons with Al‑Jazira Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. In 75 competitive matches for the Turkish club he scored 44 goals and set up seven more. Even before his departure he scored for Sturm Graz both in the 2‑0 home win and the 1‑0 away game in the Champions League qualification. In the first four qualification matches of this season he scored a goal in each.
Centre‑back Çağlar Söyüncü is released by Fenerbahçe and signs until the summer of 2028 with Süper Lig newcomer Çorum FK. The 30‑year‑old Turkish international had previously played for Altınordu, SC Freiburg, Leicester City, Atlético Madrid and Fenerbahçe and won the FA Cup with Leicester. He gathered experience in the Bundesliga, the Premier League and La Liga and remains a member of the Turkish national team, having been in the 2026 World Cup squad. He made a total of 75 competitive appearances for Fenerbahçe.
The 2026 summer transfer window is already closed in most leagues, including Austria. The final transfers of this summer are still being finalized and will be presented in compact four‑player packages from home and abroad. With the signings of Cvetko, Jurcec, Talisca and Söyüncü, both Grazer AK and Fenerbahçe demonstrate how they strategically strengthen their squads after the transfer period ends.
