Fujita's first‑season goal lifts Sankt Pauli to vital win

While Sankt Pauli celebrated their first league win of the season, VfL Wolfsburg suffered their inaugural defeat, the contrast highlighted by midfielder 藤田譲瑠チマ’s 88th‑minute strike – his first goal of the campaign – captured in Images by Getty on matchday five of the 2. Bundesliga.

Sankt Pauli break winless run

In the fifth round on the 12th, 藤田譲瑠チマ started for Sankt Pauli alongside teammate 原大智, who began on the bench, while 安藤智哉 was omitted from the matchday squad. The Japanese midfielder’s goal gave the side a 1‑0 lead and secured their first league victory after three draws and one loss.

VfL Wolfsburg fielded Shiogai Kento in the starting eleven, but he was substituted in the 74th minute. The German club recorded its first loss of the campaign, having previously amassed two wins and two draws.

The decisive moment arrived in the 88th minute when 藤田譲瑠チマ won the ball high up the pitch, dribbled forward, cut inside and unleashed a right‑footed shot that struck a defender before rattling the net. The strike proved enough to settle the match.

藤田譲瑠チマ completed the full ninety minutes, while Shiogai Kento featured until the 74th minute and 原大智 entered as a substitute in the final minute of play.

The contrasting fortunes underline Sankt Pauli’s emerging momentum and the need for Wolfsburg to regroup after their first setback.
