Frosinone's Koutsoupias heads to Anderlecht for €600,000
Frosinone football Koutsoupias has been transferred to Anderlecht, the most successful club of Belgium, with a permanent transfer of around 600 thousand euros and a four‑year contract until 2030. Ilias Koutsoupias, a key figure in the promotion to Serie A, saw the Belgian market close at midnight on Thursday, while Frosinone lost one of its strengths.
The transfer was valued at around 600 thousand euros, a figure confirmed by multiple sources. The player signed a four‑year agreement, which will bind him to Anderlecht until 2030. The Belgian club boasts 34 national championships, the highest record in the country.
A key figure in the promotion
In the last season Ilias Koutsoupias was one of the strengths of Frosinone under Roberto Alvini. He scored eight goals and provided three assists in thirty‑four appearances in Serie A. Those numbers contributed to securing the place in the top division.
The path to Frosinone
The Greek arrived at the yellow‑blue club in January 2005, tallying forty appearances in the first stint. After the promotion, he started in the opening match against Juventus, but the arrival of Masini, Grillitsch, El Azzouzi, Schmid and Hasa reduced his playing time. The lack of minutes made the transfer inevitable.
According to another announcement, Koutsoupias had arrived at Frosinone from Catanzaro for a fee of one hundred thousand euros in January 2025. Since then he has collected forty‑three appearances, with nine goals, four assists and seven cautions. The new contract is set to expire in June 2030.
With the move to Anderlecht, Ilias Koutsoupias begins a new adventure in Belgium, where he can rely on a competitive environment and a club accustomed to winning. His arrival was confirmed immediately after the Belgian market closed, leaving Frosinone to reorganise the midfield.
