Frosinone Alvini finds identity despite 2-1 loss to Lazio

Frosinone were beaten 2-1 by Lazio in a friendly at the Benito Stirpe stadium, yet coach Massimiliano Alvini left the press conference upbeat, stressing that his side displayed a clear identity and gave him plenty of reasons for optimism.

Il tecnico Massimiliano Alvini highlighted the 2-1 result of the FROSINONE-LAZIO test match, noting that the performance against a higher‑category opponent was encouraging as the club prepares for its official Coppa Italia debut in just one week.

“It was a good match, a good Frosinone that showed great things. We played with courage and a strong identity. I am very happy,” Alvini said, adding that the rest of the analysis would come later.

Active market and squad building

The transfer market remains very active for the ciociara side, but Alvini insisted it is not a problem, saying, “The important thing is that the coach knows how to navigate. Players arrive, I train them, and those we have already trained well.”

He warned that blending the new arrivals will require patience, explaining, “That Frosinone was fantastic. There is a new phase with some players from last year and the new ones. It will take a little time to integrate them, and some will come next week, close to the league start.”

Pre‑season camp and team spirit

The summer camp at Terminillo received high praise. “We were great at Terminillo, the community that hosted us was wonderful. The team has leg, run, spirit, ideas – it was an excellent camp. Well done to all the boys,” Alvini affirmed.

Season outlook and mental approach

Alvini stressed the need for a consistent mentality throughout the campaign, likening the squad to a ship that must be steered confidently. “We were aggressive for 88 minutes; when we defended with more men we conceded a penalty – that detail must be fixed. Here you play if you deserve it, you run, you work, you have discipline,” he said.

Looking ahead, Alvini expects the squad to take shape between October and November as further market activity materialises, while the team will aim to translate the positive signs from the Lazio test into competitive results in the upcoming Coppa Italia and Serie B season.
