Koeman Omits Frimpong, Includes De Roon, Depay, Timber
Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman left right‑winger Jeremie Frimpong out of the final World Cup squad. Midfielder Marten de Roon returned to the list alongside forwards Memphis Depay and defender Jurriën Timber.
Koeman has until Monday 1 June to make any changes before the roster becomes final. Players may be replaced up to 24 hours before the opening match if a serious injury or illness occurs.
The omission of Frimpong, who plays for Liverpool FC, stands out among the absences. Also missing are Kees Smit of AZ Alkmaar, Lutsharel Geertruida of RB Leipzig, Luciano Valente of Feyenoord Rotterdam, and Stefan de Vrij of FC Internazionale Milano, the latter having sustained a weekend injury.

The selected keepers are Bart Verbruggen, Mark Flekken and Robin Roefs, while the defensive line includes Virgil van Dijk, Denzel Dumfries, Jurriën Timber, Jan Paul Van Hecke, Micky van de Ven, Nathan Aké and Jorrel Hato. Midfield options comprise Frenkie de Jong, Tijjani Reijnders, Ryan Gravenberch, Teun Koopmeiners, Quinten Timber, Justin Kluivert, Guus Til, Marten de Roon and Mats Wieffer, and the attacking group features Memphis Depay, Cody Gakpo, Donyell Malen, Wout Weghorst, Brian Brobbey, Noa Lang and Crysencio Summerville. De Roon earned his first cap since 24 March 2024 after missing the European Championship with a prior injury and impressed as captain during a strong season with Atalanta BC. Injuries have also kept Jerdy Schouten, Matthijs de Ligt and Xavi Simons out of the tournament, while Depay, who returned to Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, played a half‑hour against Clube Atlético Mineiro despite lingering fitness concerns. Timber continues to battle a persistent problem that kept him out since 14 March for Everton FC, and Frenkie de Jong is also not fully match‑fit.Dutch fans turn US streets into orange carnival ahead of World Cup
