Free‑transfer till 2027 adds Championship‑ready right‑back to Millwall
Jordi Osei‑Tutu, the 27‑year‑old England‑Ghana defender, has joined Millwall on a free transfer, signing a contract that runs until 30 June 2027 and providing the Championship club with a new right‑back for the 2026‑27 season. The move follows two seasons with Bolton and offers Millwall defensive depth ahead of a busy campaign.
The transfer was finalised on 21 August 2026, recorded as a free move between two Championship clubs, and sees Osei‑Tutu move to The Den to bolster Millwall’s back line.
Born in Slough, the right‑footed defender holds both English and Ghanaian nationality.
From Germany to Bolton
Osei‑Tutu arrived at Bolton in August 2024 after two seasons with the German side VfL Bochum, a club he joined on a free transfer from Arsenal in July 2019. His spell in Germany included appearances in both the Bundesliga and the 2. Bundesliga.
Experience across four leagues
Across his career he has logged 82 League One appearances with three goals and four assists, 12 Championship matches, and eight EFL Trophy games contributing two goals and one assist. In Germany he made 20 Bundesliga appearances and 21 in the 2. Bundesliga, scoring five goals and providing three assists in the latter competition.
Osei‑Tutu progressed through Arsenal’s academy after moving from Reading’s youth set‑up in 2015, later returning to the club’s under‑23 side before loan spells at Cardiff, Nottingham Forest and Rotherham, where he helped win the Football League Trophy in the 2021‑22 season.
He was also part of Arsenal’s squad that reached the Europa League final in 2018‑19, although he did not make a senior appearance in that competition.
Returning to England after his recent period with Bolton, Osei‑Tutu adds a defender with Championship, League One, Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga experience to Millwall’s squad, strengthening their options at right‑back for the upcoming campaign.
