Fourteen venues, including Stadio Roma, fuel Italy’s Euro 2032 bid
Fourteen venues have been listed in the Italian Football Federation’s dossier for the Euro 2032 bid, including the newly proposed Stadio Roma in Pietralata. The FIGC confirmed the inclusion on its website, noting the submission meets UEFA’s deadline and positions Rome among the cities vying to host matches.
In a formal statement, the FIGC wrote: “Within the deadline set by UEFA, the FIGC today submitted the dossiers of the venues deemed suitable to continue the bid process to host matches at Euro 2032.” The announcement underscored the federation’s commitment to the European tournament.
The dossier covers thirteen cities – Bari, Bologna, Cagliari, Florence, Genoa, Lecce, Milan, Naples, Palermo, Rome, Salerno, Turin and Verona – and fourteen stadiums. Rome’s entry competes with the existing Stadio Olimpico and the proposed Pietralata arena, while Naples proposes the Maradona stadium.
Stadio Roma joins the bid
President Giovanni Malagò has forwarded the formal communication to Alexander Ceferin, head of the European football governing body, confirming the assessment of the new Pietralata project. The inclusion of Stadio Roma highlights Rome’s ambition to host matches alongside the historic Olimpico.

UEFA to conduct compliance checks
UEFA will now carry out its own compliance checks, covering eleven thematic areas and one hundred and twenty operational requirements such as fan services, accessibility, sustainability and media facilities. Only after these reviews will the federation select the five host venues for Euro 2032.
President Malagò praised the quality and number of dossiers received, saying they demonstrate Italy’s commitment and the collaborative effort of public and private entities. He thanked UEFA for its fruitful collaboration and expressed confidence that the selected cities will be worthy of a major international event.
