Fortuna warns of overload: Slimani after Morocco U20 alarm

Fortuna Düsseldorf raises alarm because Anas Slimani has been nominated for the first time for the Moroccan U20 national team and is set to play five friendly matches in the next 13 days. The young midfielder started strongly in his first professional season, which justified the selection.

Coach Alexander Ende calls for workload management

Coach Alexander Ende is generally pleased with the nomination, but would have preferred to keep the player in Düsseldorf. He emphasizes that the workload in recent weeks has already been very high and praises the professional handling of Slimani regarding the situation.

According to reports, Fortuna has sent workload protocols to the Moroccan federation and explicitly requested appropriate workload management. Ende explained that he wishes Slimani could catch his breath in the current phase, while other players trained under controlled conditions.

The club, however, has no influence over the selection and now hopes for a cautious approach with Slimani as well as regular communication with the federation. The concern focuses on the additional workload caused by travel and matches in a short period.
