Former Leipzig Bruma leaves Benfica on a free transfer for Greece
In an empty training ground of Aris Saloniki, former Bundesliga professional Bruma signed his new contract on Tuesday evening, which brings him from Benfica Lisbon to Greece on a free transfer and thus continues his career in a new league, after a difficult spell at Benfica where he had only three appearances.
As Aris Saloniki confirms, Bruma has signed a contract until 2027 and also an option for an additional year.
Late deadline enables free transfer
The move was possible because the transfer window in Greece does not close until Tuesday evening, allowing Aris to react at short notice and sign the winger without a fee.
For Bruma, a difficult chapter ended at Benfica; last season he made only three appearances there and played hardly any role on the pitch.
In Germany, Bruma is mainly known from his time at RB Leipzig, where he featured in the Bundesliga for the Saxons between 2017 and 2019.
The attacking full‑back sees at Aris Saloniki the chance to play more regularly and to attack anew after the limited playing time at Benfica.
The long‑term contract until 2027 and the additional option give Aris planning security, while Bruma gets the opportunity to continue his career in a new league.
