Former Ajax player André Onana after clean sheet in hospital

Former Ajax player André Onana was taken to hospital on Thursday evening after he was involved in a car accident. The 30‑year‑old goalkeeper of Manchester United, who is on loan at Trabzonspor, had just kept a clean sheet for the full match. After the 2‑0 win over Hearts he was hit while on his way home.
Clean victory in Istanbul
In the Europa League tie against Hearts Onana kept a clean sheet and kept his goal clean. Trabzonspor benefited from a goal by Mohamed Salah and secured the full three points. The Cameroonian was impeccable between the posts for the entire match.
Afterwards Onana was driving home when a car at high speed collided with the rear of his vehicle. The impact caused a chain reaction, after which the goalkeeper was taken to hospital.
At the hospital Onana was discharged home quickly. Ertugrul Dogan, the chairman of Trabzonspor, responded in the Turkish media: “There is nothing serious, no criticism. We wish him a speedy recovery.”
In Turkey Onana is in his second season on loan. His contract with Manchester United does not expire until 2028.
To date Onana has kept a clean sheet eleven times in 45 official matches for Trabzonspor, but he has also conceded 52 goals.
