Flick praises Yamal after Barcelona's comeback in Istanbul

Barcelona secured its tenth consecutive victory in the 2026‑27 season by beating Galatasaray 4‑1 at the RAMS Park in Istanbul, maintaining its dominant position in the UEFA Champions League and boosting the team’s confidence ahead of the next La Liga fixture.

Assessment by Hansi Flick

Coach Hansi Flick, who was managing the Catalans, expressed his satisfaction with the result and emphasized the need to keep improving, especially in decision‑making in the final third of the pitch. “We played well in the first half, but in some situations we didn’t make good decisions in the final third,” he said at the end of the match.

Flick also praised the performance of the young Lamine Yamal, who did not score but provided the final assist for two goals. “Lamine didn’t score today, but he supplied the final pass for two goals. He is an incredible player and very important to us,” he stated.

The Catalan side, nicknamed the Catalans, came back from an own goal thanks to goals from Fermin López, Anthony Gordon, Joao Cancelo and Karim Adeyemi, who completed the scoreline.

The coach noted that the atmosphere in the stadium, with the typical Istanbul vibe, was not easy, but expressed his happiness with the victory. “In this stadium, with this atmosphere, it wasn’t easy, but I’m very happy,” he added.

After the win, Barcelona returns to Spain to face Real Betis in the next La Liga round, maintaining its perfect run of ten wins in ten matches.
