Flick announces Frenkie de Jong's comeback, Raphinha misses two duels
Ahead of the press conference at the Camp Nou, just before the match against Getafe, coach Hansi Flick was ready to share news. He gave a positive injury update about the Dutchman Frenkie de Jong and immediately indicated that a comeback date is already in sight.
De Jong gets comeback date
The plan is that he returns against Real Betis on 17 October, the first match in which he can be in the squad. Flick emphasized that De Jong has no pain, can do everything, but needs a bit more time.
Flick also raised the question whether De Jong can be used as a centre‑back, and confirmed that Barcelona have several options for that position, with the Dutch midfielder also able to play a role.

Since the knockout defeat of the Dutch national team against Morocco at the 2026 World Cup, De Jong has not taken the field again, making his rehabilitation now under extra scrutiny.
Raphinha must miss two duels
Raphinha receives bad news: he will be unavailable for the next two matches. Flick explained that it is not an injury, but that the Brazilian must be approached cautiously after three injuries last year.

He will miss, among others, the match against Galatasaray, and was substituted during halftime of the friendly Brazil‑Australia duel last year, after which he has not featured for the Seleção again.
