A five‑year contract sees 20‑year‑old Ghana forward Jerry Afriyie, who turns 20 on August 24, join KRC Genk from Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah.Afriyie, with the deal announced as the Belgian Jupiler Pro League club looks to bolster its attacking options and add depth ahead of the new campaign.

Loan spell proves decisive

Afriyie returns to Belgium for a second spell after impressing on loan at RAAL La Louviere during the 2025/26 season, where he recorded five goals and two assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.

Head of Football Dimitri de Conde praised the youngster, saying, “Jerry is a player with an incredible amount of energy. Whatever he does, he gives 100 %. That fits perfectly with the intensity we want to see at KRC Genk,” adding that the club will provide the right environment for his development.

The forward, who has been capped by Ghana at U‑20 level and earned a call‑up to the senior Black Stars, has attracted attention from several European clubs following his performances in Belgium and Saudi Arabia.
