Five Premier clubs compete with Atlético for Esteban Lepaul

The French striker Estéban Lepaul, 26, has seen his market value rise from €20 million in May to a range of €50‑60 million now claimed by Rennes, which has generated interest from five Premier League clubs against Atlético de Madrid.

An expanded list of English suitors

According to the report previewed by Ekrem Konur, Aston Villa, Everton, Leeds United, Brentford and Brighton are closely tracking the forward. None of these clubs has yet submitted a formal offer, but their presence complicates the Madrid club’s plans, which no longer competes only with the three suitors it had in September.

Two weeks ago, when Rennes set the €50‑60 million bracket and claimed a percentage of a future sale, Atlético’s rivals were PSG, Inter and Benfica. In May, when Atlético met Lepaul’s agents, his value was around €20 million, so the current figure triples the previous estimate.

Performance and international projection

Lepaul enjoyed the best phase of his career in the 2025/26 season, scoring 21 goals in Ligue 1 between Rennes and Angers. In the current campaign he has added four goals in seven official matches with his team and has debuted for the senior French national side, which has raised his visibility in the European market.

Rennes retains control over the striker’s future and the €50‑60 million range constitutes the starting point for any negotiation. The obstacle for all interested parties is reaching an agreement with the French club.

Atlético de Madrid will have to assess whether it is willing to invest an amount that represents one‑third of the player’s current value in May. The January window will be the first moment the Madrid club learns how the English competition influences the final price.

In the meantime, Premier League clubs will also have to study their economic conditions before making a move, as none has made a concrete proposal to date.
