First summer coup for Premier League club FC Bayern

FC Bayern Munich is planning its first summer coup by targeting the 26-year-old English attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs‑White. In Oliver Glasner's squad he is already considered one of the biggest transfer targets, while Premier League club Tottenham is prepared to make a high bid.

High Transfer Fee

According to reports, Nottingham Forest is demanding a monster sum of €146 million for Gibbs‑White. Such an amount would far exceed Bayern, the record champion, which paid €95 million for Harry Kane. Tottenham has already made an offer, but the demanded fee appears hardly realistic for Bayern.

Manchester City and Chelsea are also watching the situation and could be willing to get close to the requested sum. Both Premier League clubs have, according to sources, shown interest, which further heats up the transfer market.

The advisory agency ROOF, which also represents Konrad Laimer, Serge Gnabry and Jonas Urbig, already maintains contacts in Munich. This connection could smooth the way for negotiations, although the financial hurdle remains high.

Gibbs‑White moved in the summer of 2022 for €29.5 million from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Nottingham Forest. Since then he has made 176 appearances, scored 37 goals and provided 37 assists, establishing himself as a regular starter.

Internationally, the Englishman has so far earned six caps, the last in October 2025. Five times he shared the pitch with Bayern striker Harry Kane, and Thomas Tuchel has nominated him for the Three Lions – a hint that Kane could make Munich attractive for him.
