A turbulent night in Stavanger
Around 01:15 a.m., the noise rang out, the explosions audible as far as the harbour and the flashes visible above the surrounding buildings. The identity of those responsible remains unknown and no law‑enforcement presence arrived on the scene, according to German media.
Bayern's organisers have not yet commented on any possible impact on sleep, and it is not confirmed that Vincent Kompany and his players were awakened by the detonations.
Preparations and squad of Bayern
The German club has already adapted its training to the synthetic turf at Viking's stadium, a surface rarely encountered in official competitions, by training on the pitch as early as Monday. The first‑choice goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, is unavailable due to a foot injury; Jonas Urbig is set to replace him.

Bayern began its Champions League campaign with a 5‑0 win over Bodø/Glimt and hopes to replicate the success this Tuesday evening.
This is not the first time Bayern has faced such an incident: in January 2025, fireworks were also set off in front of its hotel before the trip to Feyenoord, waking the players according to goalkeeper Neuer, before a 3‑0 defeat in Rotterdam.
