Fiorentina eye loan of Real Madrid teenage Argentine amid loan strategy

Real Madrid have agreed to let teenage Argentine Franco Mastantuono join Fiorentina on a season‑long loan this summer, with the deal containing no purchase option for any club. The 19‑year‑old recorded three goals and an assist in 35 appearances at the Bernabéu last season.

Sportmediaset, via La Viola, reported that Fiorentina sporting director Fabio Paratici has formally enquired about Franco Mastantuono. The Italian club sees the Argentine as a potential reinforcement for their Serie A squad.

Real Madrid have indicated they are prepared to let the teenage sensation depart on loan this summer, but the agreement excludes any purchase option for the borrowing club. Under José Mourino, Los Blancos will look to rectify that disappointing campaign by their lofty standards, and his record suggests limited opportunities for emerging players.

Fiorentina could provide Mastantuono with regular playing time, a prospect that aligns with their ambition to improve on last season’s sub‑mediocre finish and target a European place. The club’s financial constraints mean they cannot negotiate a buy‑option, making a loan the most viable route.

Real Madrid’s loan policy has previously yielded benefits, as seen with Endrick, who after limited minutes at the Bernabéu replicated his form in Lyon, and Nico Paz, who secured a move to Como. These cases illustrate the club’s willingness to develop talent through temporary transfers.

For Real Madrid, loaning Mastantuono frees a squad spot while preserving future control; for Fiorentina, the deal offers a promising Argentine talent without financial risk, potentially strengthening their campaign. Both sides therefore stand to gain from the arrangement.
