Fiorentina chase Beto while Manchester United stalls on Zirkzee
Fiorentina have yet to seal the sale of Moise Kean to Como nor finalize terms with Manchester United for Joshua Zirkzee, prompting the Viola to reportedly request Everton striker Beto as a replacement as the Italian side seeks a forward to fill the void left by the delayed Dutch striker.
Kean's pending move to Como
Fiorentina have not agreed the sale of Moise Kean to Como, but the club is very likely to accept the proposal from the Italian side. Kean is pushing hard for an exit toward a club in the Champions League, and a basic agreement of €35m plus €5m add‑ons is on the table, although the parties are still discussing how the bonuses will be activated.
Beto emerges as Fiorentina's alternative
With Zirkzee’s deal stalled, Fiorentina have turned to Everton centre‑forward Beto as a new option. Like Zirkzee, Beto is no stranger to Serie A football, having played for Udinese from 2021 to 2023 before moving to Everton for €25m plus bonus.
The 28‑year‑old recorded 10 goals and one assist in 40 competitive games for Everton last season, offering a proven scoring record that could replace Kean if the transfer falls through.
Manchester United have yet to give the all‑clear for Zirkzee, Sport Mediaset and the Corriere dello Sport. The Premier League side is considering a paid loan of €5m with an option to buy at season’s end, but United prefer a permanent sale or at least an obligation to purchase.
