Finland dispute could sideline Glen Kamara for QPR's West Ham clash
Queens Park Rangers may be without Glen Kamara for their Friday night clash with West Ham United after the club recalled the 30‑year‑old midfielder from Finland early, prompting the Finnish FA to warn that the move breaches regulations and could trigger a five‑day FIFA ban.
International duty and early recall
Glen Kamara has featured in two of Finland's three Nations League matches this window. QPR arranged for him to leave the Finnish camp on Wednesday, meaning he missed the scheduled fixture against Belarus on Tuesday. The early return gives him only two days before QPR's Friday night clash with West Ham United.
Finnish FA's protest
Finnish Football Association general secretary Marco Casagrande said the club's action breaches clear regulations. “It’s really unfortunate that he’s being put in a situation where he’s practically forced to make a really difficult choice due to pressure from the club,” he told Helsingin Sanomat. Casagrande added that players should remain available for the entire window unless an agreement is reached with the domestic side, citing Tahith Chong’s omission from Curaçao’s final game as precedent.
He also noted that the Finnish FA was not consulted about Kamara’s flight, which QPR organised independently. “I was informed practically at the point when the decision had already been made,” Casagrande said. “If you have to find a villain, then the focus is a bit on the club, but I would not want to vilify Glen.”
EFL side QPR risk FIFA sanction after forcing Kamara home early
FIFA will be informed, and the association warned that the player could be suspended for five days if the governing body sides with Finland. FIFA rules state a player may not feature for his club during the international period or for five days thereafter without the national team’s consent.

If FIFA upholds the Finnish complaint, Kamara will miss the West Ham encounter, leaving QPR to adjust their midfield options for the first game back after the international break.
