Feyenoord intimidates Betis after explosive win

Feyenoord showed its offensive power by winning 3‑4 against Telstar on Saturday and arrives on Wednesday at La Cartuja to face Real Betis in the third round of the Champions, while the EFE agency and journalist Jordi Santamaría highlight its good form. With 23 points from 9 rounds, the Dutch club leads the Eredivisie, four ahead of AZ and PSV, who have played one match fewer.

A high‑voltage victory

Gaoussou Diarra opened the scoring after 25 seconds, and Nacho Ferri and Sem Steijn completed the four goals, the latter from the penalty spot. Despite reaching a two‑goal lead, the team did not close out the match and suffered until the end, conceding five goals over the two games.

Recent performance and absences

Feyenoord came into the game after beating Como 3‑2 in the Champions, adding two consecutive wins and seven goals in four days. However, it has conceded five goals in both matches. Currently, Jordan Bos, Thomas Beelen, Bart Nieuwkoop and Gijs Smal are injured; Jakub Moder is doubtful, and Luciano Valente, who had raised doubts, came off the bench against Telstar.

Next challenge at La Cartuja

The clash with Real Betis will be played on Wednesday the 21st at 21:00 at La Cartuja. Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund, Betis' next opponent, drew 0‑0 with Union Berlin and has lost the Bundesliga lead. Other Betis rivals also posted results: Slovan Bratislava beat Spartak Trnava 3‑0 and Lille drew 1‑1 with Brest. Porto, without activity this weekend, will face PSV on Tuesday.
